Hello,
I plan to travel are travelling to Japan for 21 but most long distance will be 4 days after arriving to Tokyo. I will be arriving at Haneda airport :

Places that I plan to cover are:
Fukuoka to Nagasaki and back
Fukuoka to Hiroshima-return
Fukuoka to Kyoto
Kyoto will travel around to Osaka and Kobe
Kyoto to Tokyo
Tokyo to Mount Fuji
Tokyo to Hakone
Tokyo to Yokohama

Should I get a JR pass and if I should is 14 or 21 is the best one?

Thanks

Hi there,

If it hard to say for sure without having the exact dates/timing of your travel. As you already know, the JR Pass works best for longer distances. Especially going from spots like Tokyo to Fukuoka/Nagasaki, it is unclear to me but do you plan to do this by rail or fly?

As a bit of general advice, try to cover as many long distance trips with a 14 day JR Pass. If you notice that you still need more time, then only would I look at the 21-day pass.

We can help you more if you add the timing of your trip.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
