Hi everyone,

I Have just asked about if can I buy my 7 days normal JR ticket which I will buy in advance for to use from 26 to 01 January 2013, and interchange it between normal to express when i will go to travel from Tokyo to Hiroshima and others cities around, with in paying the extra cost in the local exchange? Is this expensive? or what do you advise me?
Thanks for your advise.

Hi there,

The Japan Rail Pass covers travel on all JR lines in Japan including bullet trains (except Nozomi and Mizuho class bullets). This means that you will be able to use all normal and express JR trains during your travels (bullet trains are known as super express). Here is a map of the valid Japan Rail Pass coverage for your reference.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Mari, but I am confusing about Why on the internet JR web
http://www.jrpass.com/buy_the_japan_rail_pass_online
Appear two different prices such as 7 days ticket $329 and $438 (first class) AD respectively? Or is First class allow to people to travel in a bullet train? If i buy Not fist class ticket, would it allow me travel in a bullet trains paying the difference in the currency money? in that case how much will I pay, if the travel is between Tokyo and Hiroshima and vice-verse?
Thanks

Hi Lucho,

Both types of JR Pass (normal and first class) allow travel on the bullet trains. The difference is that there are often 2 types of seating on JR trains: Normal Class and First Class seats. The First class seating areas are a lot quieter and have comfier seats than the standard class. First class is officially known as "green car" seating. We sell JR Passes for both classes of seating on jrpass.com.

For reference, a return trip from Tokyo to Hiroshima in standard class will cost ¥35,700. As a 7 day standard JR Pass costs ¥28,300, you would save a minimum of ¥7400 with a JR Pass.

Hope this helps!
