Hi!
If we use the ltd exp hashidate train from Kyoto to Amanohashidate how much do we have to pay extra to cover the non-JR part of the trip? We will have a green pass (probably) as it will be in mid-August. Do we understand correctly that there are no transfers involved and we just stay on the same train the whole trip?
thanks

Hi there,

The JR Pass will cover the trip until Fukuchiyama, from there you have to pay the normal fare for the Non-JR Part. This is 1,480 Yen for a reserved seat, the extra ticket price for green class will be around 2,100Yen.

The train will be split up at Fukuchiyama before continuing, you won"t have to change if you sit in the right compartment.
The last 2 train cars will be traveling to Amanohashidate.

I hope this helps,
-Daniel
