We are travelling to Japan in the Golden Week. We want to buy the JR Pass, but I am confused. I checked the website japantravel.navitime.com to see the timetable to travel on the 28/4 from Tokyo - Shin Osaka. I am aware that we can't use the shinkansen Nozomi and the Mizuho without paying an additional fee. On this site, I see that to use the Hikari they mention for a non reserved seat an amount of 4960 YEN. So my question is, with the jr pass do you need to pay for a non-reserved seat fee or any fee to use the Hikari?

Hi there,
You won't need to pay any extra fees for the Hikari services if you purchase a JR Pass and make a seat reservation (done for free).
Kind regards,
