Hi there,
we really want to spend our last 3 days in Japan in Nikko. And we have to get there from Koyasan.
Could you tell us how long such a journey will take? From Koyasan to Nikko using the JR pass.

Hi Oz,
The fastest way is to take the non-JR Kintetsu line from Gokurakubashi (this is the station for Koya san) to Osaka. From here it is not hard to ride the Shinkansen to Tokyo. At Tokyo transfer to the Tohoku Shinkansen to make a last transfer at Utsunomiya.
You can find the full route here it takes around 445 Minutes, so it will probably take up most of your day.
