Trains from Osaka to Fukuoka

Hi there!

When looking up Fukuoka station, be sure to use the name Hakata. This is the Shinkansen station for Fukuoka named after the old name of that part of the city. It can be a bit confusing when looking up the city in Hyperdia but don't use Fukuoka as you will end up somewhere completely different.

Thanks for your tips. No wonder, I am going in a whirlpool trying to map myself going to places with my JR Pass.

Can you please give me some indication how long it takes on the trains? I have read some takes more than 7 hours and some only take 3 hours or more. Really confusing trying to plan my time around it.

I am rather curious now where you found that information, let me give you the route information.
The trip Shin-Osaka Fukuoka (Hakata) takes 160 Minutes with the Sakura Shinkansen. This is a direct route and covered by the JR Pass.
