Hi,

I am traveling to Tokyo and Kyoto, and I am unsure if the JR 7 day pass will be worth it for my trip. Any advice on if the individual costs of the tickets would be cheaper than the JR pass?

Narita Express from airport to Tokyo Station
Tokyo to Kyoto
Kyoto to Tokyo
Narita Express to Airport

Any advice would be great!

I should also mention that my trip will be a total of 7 days.

Hi there,

Yes I do think that a 7 day JR Pass would help you make savings, it also makes your travel a lot more convenient as you just need one ticket for all your travel.

Here's a little breakdown of ticket prices:

Narita Airport - Tokyo ¥ 3,140
Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,420
Kyoto - Tokyo ¥ 13,420
Tokyo - Narita Airport ¥ 3,140

For a total of ¥ 33,120 or ¥ 4,820 in savings as the 7 Day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300. You can also use the JR Pass for local travel in Tokyo as well.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
