Hi
Were coming from Shin-okubo in Tokyo and will stay overnight on kawaguchiko to go around the lake to see mt. Fuji. Then drop by gotemba the following day from kawaguchiko then go back to tokyo. Here are my questions.
1. How much do we have to pay the transfer from jr in otsuki station going to kawaguchiko?
2. Is the odakyu railway romance car different from jr? If you use it as altrrnative route you will be paying the regular rate of romancr car?
3. Is gotemba-tokyo route all covered by jrpass?
4. Is gotemba hakone possible using the jr pass or much better to go straight to tojyo from gotemba.

Hi there,
1.) 1,140yen/one way.
2.) Yes, the Odakyu is a private railway. As such the Romance car or any other Odakyu train is not included in the JR Pass. You can use the JR instead to Gotemba via Tokyo and Mishima stations. However you may want to use to Odakyu if you want to see part of Hakone.
3.) Yes
4.) I touched upon this in 2.). Basically if you want to save money than not but if you can spend 1-2,000yen on transport than you could go via Hakone.
