I would like to enquire if any of you know how to make supplementary payment at the train stations f i alight at a station not covered by JR regional pass (but is still on the JR Line)?
Do i still put the JR pass ticket through the machine then use the SUICA / IOICA card to scan or go to a manned gantry?

I would suggest going to a manned gantry as they'll be able to offer guidance and see your regional pass as well.
