Hi,
We wanted to use our rail pass to get from Osaka to Tokyo on Sunday March 19.
Does the shinkansen run on Sunday? Can we use our rail pass on those trains or is it only the Nozomi train?
We already bought the rail passes and now are not sure if we can even use them on the days we need to.

Hi there,
Yes, the Shinkansen run 365 days a year, and of course your JR Pass is valid on those days too!

Thank you. Just wanted to make sure since on the schedule I only see Nozomi trains running on Sunday from Osaka to Tokyo and the JR Pass cannot be used on those trains.

After speaking with some friends in Japan, I believe my concern is based on the fact that some English-based schedules of the Shinkansen list Nozomi as the only available trains on Sundays. They told me that on the Japanese sites it has Hikari as well, but for some reason English readers only see Nozomi.
