Hello Daniel,
I read that I need a special stamp on my passport in order to qualify for a JR Pass. Do I need to advise someone at the airport that I need that stamp or will they know?

Hi Mary,
You need to enter Japan using a "Temporary visitor" visa. Depending on your nationality, you may receive this upon arrival.

Thank you.
I'm an US Citizen and it states that we have a Visa Exemption. Is that correct? Should we ask for the stamp or do they just give it ro me upon arrival?

Hi Mary,
If you are a US citizen, then you'll receive this upon arrival. Visa exempt in this case that you don't have to apply for a visa beforehand but will still receive one upon arrival. You'll receive one when you go through border control.
