Day 1
1) Narita Airport to Tokyo Station
2) Tokyo Station to Karuizawa Station
Day 3
3) Karuizawa to Tokyo Station
4)Tokyo Station to Osaka Station
Day 7
5)Osaka Station to Tokyo Station
Day 9
6)Tokyo Station to Narita Station

This is my schedule for the Japan Trip. Should I purchase a JR Pass? or buy it individually? Can this JR pass used on traveling around Tokyo too? Should I use a SUICA card?

Hi there,

It is likely to be more cost-effective for you to purchase your tickets individually. However, since you’ll be making use of the Shinkansen trains, it is still an option worth considering in terms of organisational and planning benefits. Also, the JR Pass will cover basic metro travel in Tokyo and Osaka, via the Yamanote Line and Loop Line in Tokyo and Osaka respectively. If you plan on making use of the other lines which go further outwards from the centre of Tokyo, you’ll need to use a prepaid travel card, such as a Suica.

Kind regards,

Alexis
