Shinkansen Reservation

Hi there!

There's only one Shinkansen line going down south from Tokyo to Hiroshima. This map gives a great overview of stations and locations.

This means that the Shinkansen line is the same and your stops Odawara, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima are all on the same line.

All these places are covered by the JR Pass what you could do is: Tokyo - Odawara - Kyoto - Hiroshima - Osaka and back to Tokyo. This way you can limit the amount of travel that you do on a single day. The route does not really matter that much though, just be sure to travel all the shinkansen parts before the pass expires.

Hi Again!

Both Kyoto (59 minutes away) and Osaka (55minutes away) are close to Nara and you can use to JR Pass to travel from both to Nara, so no extra fees needed :D

Going there from both stations is fine but I think that Kyoto station would be the better option because it is easy to find the right trains and platforms there, whist Osaka can be somewhat confusing.

Either way both are fine!
