Hi there,
Between Oct 25 and Nov 5, my friend and I will be in Japan. Please advise on the most economical pass. Our itinerary is as follows:
Osaka to Kyoto - Oct. 25
Kyoto to Miyajima - Oct. 29
Miyajima to Tokyo - Oct. 30
Tokyo to Hakone - Nov 3
Hakone to Tokyo - Nov. 5
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,
seeking info on which pass to purchase
Hi there,
The only pass that would cover your itinerary up until Miyajima to Tokyo is a regular JR Pass. Although you will be using the Shinkansen, it is likely that purchasing your tickets individually would come out to be slightly cheaper meaning that your most cost-effective option would be to purchase your tickets individually. Despite this, a JR Pass is still an option worth looking into if you are looking to avoid the hassle of purchasing things individually. In any case, travel to Hakone isn’t covered by any of the JR Passes so if you are considering a pass I’d recommend it for the first part of your trip.
Kind regards,
Alexis
