Hi, we are 3 and we will be traveling for 24 days in Japan, during October/November.
First we are staying in Tokio from 10/26 to 11/3. During that period, we plan to visit, in different daytrips: 1) Hakone, 2) Nikko, 3) Fuji Five Lakes area and 4) Kamakura.
Then we Will be staying in Kyoto (11/3 to 11/13), rom where we plan to visit, in different daytrips: 1) Takao, 2) Nara, 3) Osaka, 4) Himeji, 5) Okayama/Kobe.
Afterwards, Hiroshima and Miyajima (one night) and back yo Kyoto.
From Kyoto to Okayama, Kanazawa and Takayama. And finally, back to Tokio Airport (Narita).
We are planning to buy a JR Pass for 21 days (starting 10/30 until 11/19), that way we can include all daytrips from Tokio and Kyoto, and also or moving/traveling from one city to another. What do you recommend?
Recomendation for my trip
Hi there,
What you plan on doing is what I’d recommend as well - the 21-day pass, in this instance, would be a cost-effective option if you’re able to fit in most of your train journeys into that window and make sure it covers the most expensive ones, so since you’re able to do that I’d definitely recommend purchasing the 21-day pass. Great itinerary as well! The Miyajima Ferry is also covered by the JR Pass too in case you weren’t aware.
Hope this helps!
Alexis
Helps a lot! Thank you
