Hello! I am wondering if I am able to reserve Shinkansen tickets via the website before I receive my physical card in the mail.

Thank you! Am I able to reserve Shinkansen tickets once I have the physical card in hand or do I need to physically be in Japan and activate the card first. I'm traveling from overseas and trying to reserve my tickets beforehand.

You will need to have activated the pass, effectively this means being in Japan.
