Hi,
I will be travelling from Osaka to Tokyo on June 2012.
I would like to ask what is the maximum size of luggage allow to bring into the bullet train ?
We have 2 families should have 2 large bags and 2 medium bags. Is this OK ?
Looking forward on your reply.

Hi there!

That's a very good question!

I don't think there are any clear guidelines on the maximum size of luggage to bring on the bullet train, but I know from memory that I have taken large suitcases on the bullet with no problem. There is always an area behind the last seats in each car for luggage with space for 6-8 suitcases there. In addition there is an overhead luggage rack suitable for small-medium size bags.

I think provided you are bringing normal shaped luggage, even if large, you will be fine.

Hope this helps!
