Hi,

What's the best way to get from Kyoto to Yoshinoyama and back for a day trip using the JR pass?

Thanks

Hello there,

Travel to Yoshiyama can be done for the great part with the JR Pass.

The route is as follows: use the JR to travel to Yoshinoguchi, from where you can take the Kintetsu Yoshino Line to Yoshino itself. The Kintetsu line is not covered by the JR Pass and requires a fare of 370 yen.

Here's an example itinerary from Kyoto to Yoshinoguchi.

I hope this helps!
Daniel
