Hi

We (3 adults) will be visiting Japan 2nd half of May.
For our travel from Tokyo/Kyoto/Tokyo we shall be advised to buy 7 days JR Pass.

We intend to stay 1 night in the Kawaguchko area (Fuji San region) on our way back from Kyoto and understand that we can stop at Mishima to go to Kawaguchiko.

Kindly advise whether this is the most convenient route and how we can use the JR pass for this part of our journey.

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Hi Daniel

Thanks for the information and leads.

Which is the most convenient routes (both covered and not covered by the JR pass) from Kawaguchiko to Shinjuku?

Regards

Hi Stan,

I am afraid that there is no full route covered with the JR Pass. You will find the best route from Shinjuku - Kawaguchiko in the blog links I posted above. Using the JR Pass from Shinjuku - Otsuki station and from there use the Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko station. The Fujikyu is not covered by the JR Pass and costs 1,140yen/one way. The full trips take a little over 2 hours.

Hi Daniel

Shinjuku - Kawaguchiko via Otsuki info is definitely very useful to us.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Stan
