Hi,

Me and another 4 friends arriving Kansai International Airport on the 29th Dec morning and will be travelling to Mount Fuji and Tokyo, and I need to be back to Kansai International Airport by 3rd Jan morning. Basically I only have 5 days travelling.

My question is;

1) Which JR Ticket should i be buying? 7 days Nationwide JR Pass?

2) Should I go for Mount Fuji first then Tokyo and from Tokyo direct back to Kansai International Airport
or
I should go to Tokyo first, then mount fuji then back to Kansai Airport.

Hope someone can help to answer my questions.

Much appreciated!

Regards,

Terry

Hi Terry,

1.) A 7 day JR Pass would be the best option here. A return ticket Kansai Airport - Tokyo alone already costs more than the 7 day JR Pass and you get 7 days of unlimited travel with the JR Pass. It is a good deal here, even if you only use it for 5 days.

2.) Fuji is best visited as a day trip to Tokyo, it is not easy to add it as a stop between Kansai - Tokyo. Do keep in mind that the holiday period will be busy, I recommend reserving your longer distance trips the moment that you arrive at Kansai Airport.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
