Anybody know the procedure for combining the JRail pass with KRail? Apparently I can combine the two but I'm not sure what I should buy first. I'll be in Japan July 15th to 21st then over to Korea on the ferry, from 21st to 26th, before returning to Japan for my flight on 28th July.
JRail and KRail Combined (with Beetle ferry)
Hi there,
The is no official way of combining them. It could be that an agency is selling them all together as a package but there is no universal pass or anything.
You can buy the passes/tickets separately and use them all in turn.
Was there any reason in particular that you wished to combine them?
If you found a website with information about this please link it and I can comment further on it.

I found this info on KoRail. The link is below:
Use the English version of the site. Click on Traveling. The select Foreign Railroad Traveling. It gives some info there but suggests using a Korean website called OhMyHotel.
Good luck. Thanks for looking at my question.
Hi There,
Thank you for the link! That was very interesting to read.
What I understand about it is, that it is a package for discounted travel in both Korea and Japan.
However it does not include the Korean Train Pass or the Japan Rail Pass. What you do get are discounted tickets for all the parts that you travel.
You can confirm this by looking at the different prices for different cities you can visit in Japan. The JR Pass is just a flat fee, so all cities in Japan should quote the same price.
I hope this clears things up!
Daniel
