Hi
Planning to travel to Tokyo, Kanazawa and Osaka in November 2024.
I will spend 13 days in Japan, my question is should I buy the 7 days or 14 days tickets since most of my time will be spending in Tokyo (8 days) commuting with local trains. Is the green card only accepting reserves seat.
Thanks

Hi there,

The 7 day option would suit you more than the 14-day option, as the JR Pass wouldn’t be of much use for you while you stay in Tokyo. Both the Green Class and Regular options require you to make reservations for seats, unless you are travelling on a carriage with unreserved seating where you’ll still have to make a reservation but not for any specific seats.

Hope this helps!

Alexis
