Dear Sir/Madam,
My family of 6 are visiting Japan this Spring just in time for the cherry blossom.
We will be flying in through KIX and go straight to Nara and then to Kyoto and then to Tokyo and, finally, our last stop will be Osaka before leaving Japan through KIX.
We wish to know if JR PASS will be the most convenient and economical way to travel around the places I mentioned above.
Please help with your advice.

To see if a 7 day rail pass is economical, you need to compare the ticket costs against the cost of the rail pass. A 7 day rail pass is ¥28,300. Lets take a look at your costs:
TOTAL: ¥33700 for 5 legs
As you can see you'll make a saving of ¥5,400 as a minimum so I can certainly recommend a Japan Rail Pass for your trip provided it is within a 7 day period.
With a JR Pass you will also have the freedom to visit other places such as Nikko or Kamakura near Tokyo. We have a blog post on day trips from Tokyo for more.
