Hello everyone!!

We're planning a trip to Japan and we're checking if the JR Pass is the way to go
We're planning to spend 21 days in:

  • Tokyo
  • Daytrip to Yokohama / Kamakura
  • Kanazawa
  • Takayama
  • Kyoto
  • Osaka
  • Daytrip to Nara
  • Daytrip to Hiroshima
  • Back to Tokyo

Does the JR Pass includes transport from/to the main international airports? and local transportation within those cities? My wife can't walk to much due to a health limitation, so we might be using them a lot

Any aditional place you might recommend to add to this itinerary would be highly appreciated :)

Thank you and kind regads!!

Hi there,

The JR Pass will include transport from airports to corresponding major cities - however, the local city transport options are limited as the JR Pass is used to cover inter-city travel, especially via Shinkansen. If you plan on utilising a lot of public transportation then I’d suggest picking up a Suica Card when you land in Tokyo, regardless of whether you plan on purchasing a JR Pass or not.

Kind regards,

Alexis
