Hi my husband and I are going to Japan for 14 days, we are planning to expend 1 week in Tokyo and One week in Kyoto ( one day in Nara and maybe Osaka) then back to Tokyo. It worth buy the 14 days pass.

Also how easy is change JR stations and Metro Stations since I will stay in a hotel close to a metro station.

Thanks

Hi there!

Probably if you were only going to do a trip Tokyo <> Kyoto/Nara/Osaka, then a 7 day pass will be good for you, not a 14 day pass. If you think you'll do more long distance travel (eg, trips to Nikko or Hiroshima), then maybe could recommend a 14 day pass, but it would really depend on how much extra travel you're planning on.

For changes from JR stations to Metro, it also depends on the station :). Many stations, like Tokyo station, have integrated Metro and JR lines running through them, but in all cases you'll need to leave the Metro operated area and enter the JR operated area through ticket gates rather than simply changing platform. If you let me know which station will you be staying near to I'll see if I can find more detail for you.

Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for your fast answer, the metro station is Hanzomon metro station

If I buy the 7 days pass, I won't be able to use it for example 04/04 from Narita to Tokyo
Then Tokyo- Kyoto 04/10 and then back to Tokyo on 04/16. Tokyo -Narita 04/17

This is basically my itinerary.

Hi there!

the nearest JR station for you will be Yotsuya I think which will be a 15 minute walk.

As for the 7 day option, my thinking was that you'd use it for the Tokyo <> Kyoto/Nara/Osaka return between 04/10 and 04/16. Outside of this you would purchase other discount tickets as needed - for example the [Narita Express + Suica deal] would get you the return into Tokyo and also include some discounted within the city on metro or JR lines. (as would the Keisei Skyliner + metro pass deals).

Hope this helps!
