Hi there,

Most of your travel is covered by the JR Pass, with the exception of direct travel to Mt Zao depending on where you plan to travel in the area. For your itinerary it may still be worth it purchasing a JR Pass given that you’ll be making use of the Shinkansen bullet trains and will be constantly travelling.

I’d suggest exchanging the pass with the activation date set to 11/12, so that travel to Kansai Airport will be covered - this does mean, however that you’ll have to purchase the ticket from Narita to Tokyo separately.

Kind regards,

Alexis
