Is it worth buying a pass for this 2 week itinerary?

Hi! We're going to Japan in 2 weeks and this is our itinerary:

  • 3 days in Tokyo (one day trip to Nikko)
  • 3 days in Kyoto (one day trip to Nara)
  • 2 days in Osaka
  • 2 days in Kinosaki Onsen
  • 2 days in Tokyo (one day trip to Hakone)

I think we will need to use transportation also visiting Tokyo.

Is it worth buying a JR pass?

Thank you for your help!

Hi there,

For your itinerary it is likely that purchasing a JR Pass will not be your most cost-effective option, so if you’re happy to purchase your tickets individually I’d suggest doing so.

Kind regards,

Alexis
