We've bought our 7-day JR pass and will be coming to Hakone from Kyoto rather than Tokyo, so won't buy the Hakone Freepass including Romance Train ticket.
Is there an option to upgrade to the Romance Train one-way from Hakone to Tokyo, and if so, is it worth it?

Hi there,
The Romance car is operated by the Odakyu railway company and it does not accept the JR Pass. This would mean that you'll have to pay the full price if you wish to travel on the Romance car.
However you can use the super fast bullet train with the JR Pass instead, the romance car is a bit more scenic but I don't think that it would be worth the extra money.
