getting around from Osaka to Tokyo
Hi there!
I would suggest going for a 7 day JR Pass with your current wishlist of places to visit. Use the JR Pass to cover your otherwise expansive long distance travel such as Osaka - Tokyo and plan around that. Japan suddenly is not so huge when you have a JR Pass, because you simply can go anywhere. For instance add a visit to Hiroshima, Miyajima or even Beppu but be sure to reach Tokyo before your pass expires.
I hope this helps you make a start!
Daniel
