Eligibility status for Japan Rail Pass for holders of Serbian passport

Hi Mika,

You won't have to apply for a Visa before you visit Japan if you are in possession of an Serbian E-Passport. Meaning that you can just fly to Japan and enjoy the JRPass.

Hi Daniel and thank you very much for your quick response.

My dilemma about JRPass comes because my country (Serbia ) is not on the list of countries which passport holders will automatically receive 'Temporary Visitor' entry status stamp on arrival into Japan which is necessary for using JRpass in Japan as I understood from official site www.jrpass.com.
And I have one more question, is there possible to purchase JRPass in Japan in some other way except online (for instance at vending machine)?

Hi Mika,

According to the official website from the Japanese foreign affairs ministry, Serbia does qualify for the temporary Visa status. You can always contact the local Japanese Embassy to ask if you need to apply for it but I think you are fine.

You can only buy the JRPass outside of Japan, either online or at one of the local resellers.
