I know of course that the pass only gives free travel on regular seats on most JR routes.
But like the title suggests, I was wondering if I wanted to treat myself on 1 of my trips would my pass give a discount on booking a Green class seat?

No, I'm afraid there wouldn't be access to a discount on Green class seats if you were to buy a regular JR Pass - you can book a ticket for yourself at full price, but it's understandable if this isn't something you'd be willing to do given the expense. Alternatively, we do offer a Green Class JR Pass that covers Green Class seats for all trips you'd be making, but this does come at a higher cost than the regular JR Pass.
