Hello,
I understand that I must activate my Japan Rail Pass once I get to Japan. Does this mean that I have to start using it straight away?
Would be great if anyone could help me

Hi there!
When you activate your Japan Rail Pass you can specify a starting date anytime up to 1 month into the future. This means that you can activate your rail pass once you arrive in Japan, make any seat reservations you want, and then start the validity period in your own time.
