Hi,

We are planning our vacation to Japan. We want to travel with a japan rail pass, so I have been reading a lot about this.
But on internet their is a lot contradictory information and I don't understand everything.
Maybe someone here can give me an answer to my questions.

What's the difference between the nozomi, mizuhi, hikari en sakura trains? And which trains can we take if we travel with a japan rail pass?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The Nozomi, Hikari, Mizuho and Sakura are all different train services. The only difference these days is the number of stops they make. The Hikari makes a couple more stops on than the Nozomi and is therefore somewhat slower. This is the same for the Mizuho and Sakura Shinkansen.

The JR Pass includes the Hikari and Sakura Shinkansen.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
