Trying to make an overnight reservation from Tokyo to Himeji, I see that there are several types of sleepers: sleeper car A and sleeper car B, which can be in a passenger car or electric car. Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

I guess that you are referring to the Sunrise express. I'd recommend taking a look at the link below to get an idea about different compartments and see what the train is like.

Thank you, but this is not the one. I am looking to travel from Tokyo to Himeji overnight. The trains I find have all these designations (as I mentioned above), but I can't find anything that would indicate which I should reserve.
There's only one train from Tokyo - Himeji which is the Sunrise Seto.
