Hello from Sydney, Australia
We are four travellers and will buy JR passes for our travels. Just one of the journeys we would like to take is Blue Symphony Train from Osaka to Yoshino, for which I understand we need a Limited Express ticket. in addition to the Blue Symphony ticket. Their website says this: "To board a Blue Symphony train, a regular ticket is required additionally.
(Adult one-way regular fare: Osaka-Abenobashi - Yoshino: 970 yen / Kashiharajingu-mae - Yoshino: 470 yen)". Will our JR passes be considered a "regular ticket"? No problem if not, just trying to understand this.
Many thanks in advance for your advice!
Regards
Lorraine
Blue Symphony Train
Hi there,
This train is operated by Kintetsu railway, which is a local train company and not part of a JR Network. I'm afraid a normal fare and ticket would be required for this train. On the upside, the train is relatively low priced.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel-san
Thanks so much for your fast reply! It's good to know, and it's no problem at all. Just trying to understand the ins and outs of our pass - challenging for first timers! So looking forward to our visit, and thank you again for demystifying this part of it!
Best wishes
Lorraine
