How long does it take to send the JR Rail Pass locally to Osaka?
We are from Australia but head to South Korea in 3 days time so would want to collect the pass from Osaka on the 16th March 2024. Would that time frame be reasonable?
Also, can we use the pass on local trains around Kyoto and Tokyo? We will want to activate our 7 day pass day 3 of Kyoto so we can make the most of our day trips from Kyoto to Hiroshima, one way from Kyoto to Tokyo, Day trip from Tokyo to Fuji Five Lakes and then the trip to Haneda airport for our return home.
Itinerary is below for your reference:
16th March - 19th March: Osaka with a day trip to Nara on 18th March. (we will not be using JR Pass here)
19th March - 23rd March: Kyoto with trips to Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari on 21st March and day trip to Hiroshima. We will activate JR Pass on 21 March.
23 March - 27 March: Local Tokyo travel with day trip to Fuji Five Lakes and Chureito Pagoda on the 26th March 2024
