Hi there,

I was wondering if it is worth it to purchase the 7 days JR pass for my trip?
Also, will I be able to use the JR Pass on the metro station in Tokyo and Kyoto?

My travel itinerary as below:
Day 1: Narita - Tokyo
Day 2: Tokyo
Day 3: Tokyo - Kyoto
Day 4: Kyoto
Day 5: Nara
Day 6: Kyoto - Tokyo
Day 7: Tokyo
Day 8 - Tokyo - Narita Airport

Looking forward to hear your advise!

Cheers~

Hi there!

I do think that a 7 day JR pass would be beneficial for your travels.

Here's a little breakdown of ticket prices without the JR Pass:
Narita - Tokyo ¥ 3,140
Tokyo - Kyoto ¥ 13,420
Kyoto - Nara (return) ¥ 1,380
Kyoto - Tokyo ¥ 13,420

This adds up to ¥ 31,360, the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so you would save at least ¥ 3,060. The JR Pass is also valid on local JR lines throughout Tokyo (but not the Tokyo Metro), adding even more :)

I hope this helps!
Daniel
