Should I use Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass?

Hello,

Here's part of my itinerary:
4 days in Osaka (will also go to Kobe and Nara), 2 days in Kyoto, then 5 days in Hakuba

I was thinking about getting the Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass even though it would not take me to Hakuba, but close enough.
My question is, is there any better option than Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass? If so, which pass?

Let's say, Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass is the best one to get for my itinerary.
I understand this pass includes Shinkansen Sanyo, Shinkansen Hokuriku and some Limited Express trains.
For those trains, on the jrpass.com website it says "non-reserved" seats, but on the westjr.co.jp website it says "reserved" seats.
Can anyone confirm whether this pass includes reserved seats or not?
If it doesn't, what should I do to get reserved seats using this pass?

Thank you :)

Hi there,

There is not an ideal option here, local travel within Kansai is relatively low cost and just using this pass as part of going up the Hokuriku area (One way) does not really represent good value. Within Kansai, you could look at a Kansai Area Pass or, if you feel adventurous, a Kansai Area WIDE Pass. Then a normal one way ticket to Hakuba, or maybe even an express bus.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
