Hi Daniel-san,

I'm thinking of buying the Kansai-wide regional pass for my upcoming trip with the ff itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive Osaka, explore Osaka
Day 2 - Osaka to Nara (return)
Day 3 - Osaka to Yuasa (in Wakayama, return)
Day 4 - Osaka to Sakai (return)
Day 5 - Osaka to Kyoto (return)
Day 6 - Departure

Does the Kansai-wide pass make sense for this itinerary? The Yuasa trip is not included in the Kansai regional pass so I had to consider Kansai Wide. I would appreciate your advise.

Thank you very much!

Hi there,

The Kansai Wide Pass may indeed be a good option here. It also allows you to get on the KUROSHIO ltd. express train from Osaka to Yuasa, which is quick and comfortable.

An alternative would be to use a normal Kansai Pass and pay the leg Wakayama - Yuasa (¥ 670) out of pocket. However, this would also involve a lot of extra time travelling on local trains.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
