JR Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass - Travelling from Kyoto to Takyama

I noticed that there is 1 direct train (Hida train) every morning from Kyoto to Takayama, but I am not sure if this route is covered under the pass (The pass seem to suggest that Hida train is covered only between Nagoya and Takayama).

Would anyone be able to help confirm please? Thank you.

Hi there,

Yes, you’re right in that you’d have to take a service on the Tokaido line to Nagoya Station where you can then take the Hida Express to Kyoto.

Kind regards,

Alexis
