Hi,
Could you help me whether my itinerary is okay and what the best Japan Rail Pass/ transportation do I need to accommodate my journey as I also combine with renting the car in some part of Hokkaido and Aomori for the reason of carrying the luggage all the way on the trip might be hard. (??)

  1. Arrive @Chitose - Sapporo
  2. Sapporo - city SS
  3. Sapporo - Otaru , start renting a car
  4. Otaru - Niseko - Lake Toya
  5. Lake Toya - Noboribetsu
  6. Lake Toya - Hakodate
  7. Hakodate (return rental car)
  8. Hakodate city sightseeing
  9. Hakodate - Aomori - train
  10. Aomori - Hirosaki castle
  11. Aomori - Akita (start renting the car)
    12 . Akita- Hachinohe
  12. Aomori - Tokyo - Kawaguchino ( return rental car in Aomori before depart to Tokyo)
  13. Tokyo city sightseeing
  14. Depart

Thank you for your advice.

Hi there,

For your itinerary I would recommend purchasing rail tickets individually, given that you'll be renting a car for multiple days that would go wasted if you purchased a pass.

Hope this helps!
