Activating multiple regional passes

Hi, I am considering buying a JR West All Area Pass, which has a 7 day validity, but it won't cover everywhere I need to go. If I buy an additional regional JR. Pass to cover my other travels but the dates of active passes overlaps, will I be able to use the other pass?

Ex: traveling within JT All Area Pass regions for 5 days and on the 6th day (while that pass is still active) I need to travel to a new region covered by a different regional pass.

I know for the countrywide JR pass that you cannot have two active at the same time. I'm just not sure about the regional passes.

Hi there,

You can buy more than 1 pass, but they are not allowed to overlap. I believe this is to prevent misuse. This also applies to regional passes. They are linked to your passport number, so JR can easily check.

Kind regards,
Daniel
