Hi there!

To get a handle on whether a 14 (¥45,100) or 21 (¥57,700) day pass is right for your travel we first need to understand your base ticket costs:

  1. Tokyo > Akayu: ¥10710, (143mins, 328km)
  2. Akayu > Sendai(miyagi/jr): ¥5680, (99mins, 135km)
  3. Sendai(miyagi/jr) > Kyoto: ¥21080, (287mins, 865km)
  4. Kyoto > Tokyo: ¥13220, (161mins, 513km)
  5. Tokyo > Akayu: ¥10710, (143mins, 328km)
  6. Akayu > Tokyo: ¥10710, (147mins, 328km)

TOTAL: ¥72110 for 6 legs

As you can see you'd make good savings with either a 14 day or 21 day pass (which must be used consecutively). I can certainly recommend either of these passes for your trip.

You can look up precise train timetables and costs at the Hyperdia travel planning website and learn how to use Hyperdia through our video blog.

Hope this helps!
