I have tried out your calculator unfortunately without succes. We would like to know if a JR Rail Pass makes sense with this itinerary:
Tokyo - Hakone (2 nights in Hakone)
Hakone - Nakatsugawa (2 nights in Nakatsugawa)
Nakatsugawa - Takayaka (2 nights in Takayama)
Tajayama - Kanazawa (2 nights in Kabazawa)
Kanazawa - Hiroshima (2 nights in Hiroshima)
Hiroshima - Kyoto (3 nights in Kyoto)
Kyoto - Tokyo
We’ll need a 14 day pass.
In advance thank you for a reply.

Hi there,

I have linked the JR Fare Calculator with your itinerary inputted here. For travel to Hakone I have used Odawara as that is where the private trains for Hakone depart from and return to.

It seems like purchasing your tickets individually would be the most cost-efficient option, however, purchasing a 14-day pass is still an option considering that the price difference is not very large compared to the price of the pass itself.

Hope this helps!
