Hi,
Would like to get your advise on the following travel plan:
Sat Oct 12 Arrival Narita airport
Sun Oct 13 Tokyo - Kyoto
Mon Oct 14 Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto
Tue Oct 15 Kyoto - Himeji - Odawara
Thi Oct 17 Odawara - Tokyo
Fri Oct 18 Stay in Tokyo
Sat Oct 19 Tokyo - Niko - Tokyo
Sun- Tue Oct 20-22 Stay in Tokyo
Wed Oct 23 Depart from Narita
Planning to buy a 7 day Japan Rail Pass, I believe it is worth doing that.
What is your recommendation with respect to the itinerary?
Looking forward to your feed back
Thanks and kind regards.

Hi there!

I do think that a JR Pass would be the best option for this route. With a little bit if planning you could cover the following routes and make great savings over normal ticket prices.

Narita Airport - ¥ 2,740
Tokyo - Kyoto - ¥ 13,020
Kyoto - Nara (return) - ¥ 1,380
Tokyo - Himeji ¥ 4,930 (by Shinkansen)
Himeji - Odawara ¥ 13,760
Tokyo - Nikko (return). ¥ 10,460

For a total of ¥ 46,290 the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 28,300 so you would save at least ¥ 17,990. What I would do is visit Nikko on Fri 18th, this way you could use the JR Pass to travel there too, which would help to maximize your savings.

Hope this helps!
Daniel
