I'm going to japan in September for 6 days. please advise me so i can plan my journey correctly :)
6 Sep: i will be arriving in Narita airport at around 5am, and i would like to go to my hotel located in Shibuya. i will have to come back to Narita airport in the evening to pick up my friend who will be coming later in the evening and back to tokyo again.
7-9 sep: to osaka and kyoto and back to tokyo.
9-11 sep: will be in tokyo and catch my flight on the 11 sep from Narita airport.

You can use your JR Pass for all these trips (including zipping back and forth to Narita Airport). Then on to Osaka, Kyoto and back to Tokyo. So my recommendation is to use the 7-day Japan Rail Pass.
