We are landing at Haneda airport in January and then wanting to travel to Kyoto and stay for three days then off to Nozawa Onsen for seven days skiing and then back to Haneda airport via Tokyo. The total number of days In Japan is eleven but we only need the rail pass for these direct trips - probably no more than five separate days travel in total. Im not sure which pass is the best and most cost effective. Any suggestions ?

Hi Chris,
I checked the normal ticket prices for you and looked if a JR Pass could be of help. Your main travel is Haneda - Kyoto (¥ 13,890) and Kyoto - Nozawa (¥ 11,460), this would not be enough to make savings with the JR Pass, so I'd recommend just buying normal tickets as you go.
