Hello everyone,
I am sorry to bother you with a specific question you must get everyday, but i’m getting overwhelmed by the JRPass question about my trip haha.

Here’s my rough itinerary :

  • I will be in Hita on October 6th and need to go to Tokyo that day. I was thinking of going from Fukuoka or Oita depending on the easiest.
  • October 7th to 18th : I meet a friend in Tokyo and spend 10 days with her. What we’ll do remains uncertain, but for now we’re set on Tokyo and Kyoto.
  • October 20th to 27th : I meet another friend. We will most likely stay in Tokyo, but a day or two in Osaka might be possible to check Universal Studios.
  • October 28th - November 14th : I will be by myself, spend one week in Kyoto, and another week wandering about.

At first I was thinking of taking a 21 days pass to cover from the 6th to the 27th then maybe 1 « 7 days » pass for the last week, but since the Nozomi train (Fukuoka - Tokyo) isn’t included, would it be better to do something else?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

Based on the travel you plan to do, a JR Pass will work great. The Nozomi between Fukuoka - Tokyo is indeed not included but you can use the Sakura and Hikari Shinkansen trains instead on this route. It means you'll have 1 transfer along the way, likely at Shin-Osaka. You could use this to plan a nice lunch or little break from train travel.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
