Nazomi line is the fastest to get to Kyoto. I read it will be updated in Oct. 2023. If I get the JR pass with the old pricing will I be eligible to use it for the Nazomi train.

Yes, but you do need to pay a bit extra for the Nozomi (like any JR user).
