Hi there,

I´ve been reading the FAQ for a while, what a good service you are offering here! Congrats.
But as many travelers I want to check if my itinerary worth the pass 7 or 14 days; here we go:

We arrive to Narita and first of all we have to take N'EX to Shinjuku.
Our main plan is to go around Tokio area using subway JR net. (included right?)
Whiting the 7 first days we will do a 1 day visit to Kyoto, I think al ready get that those tickets are included on the Rail Pass. (included right?)
On day #6 we move to Matsumoto from Tokio visiting some friends there. (included right?)
On day #8 we have to come back Matsumoto - Shinjuku - Narita (N'Ex)

So the question is;

For sure we will take 7 days pass, if all the itineraries mentioned above are included,
But it worth to take the 14 days pass or 7 days pass + Matsumoto - Shinjuku + Shinjuku - Narita.

Thanks a lot and congratulations again.

Hi there!

What I would do is buy a 7 Day JR Pass in addition to a [Suica + N'EX package] for day one and than use your JR Pass from day 2-8. You can use the Suica + N'EX to travel to Shinjuku and the Suica card is great for local travel around Tokyo and you can also use it to pay in stores if you just use the JR Pass. This would be by far the most cost efficient way of travel by rail and you can buy the N'EX package at the same time whilst you activate your JR Pass @ Narita Airport (and set the first day of use to day 2).

The for what is covered by the JR Pass, the Tokyo JR Network, the bullet train to Kyoto, Matsumoto and back to Tokyo and Narita Airport, so basically everything :)

Have a great time in Japan!
Daniel
